Softening Expression Lines, Carefully
Botox is a prescription treatment used to soften the appearance of lines created by repeated facial expression, such as frowning, raising the eyebrows and smiling. At Tanuva Aesthetics it is carried out by a qualified medical practitioner following consultation and assessment.
We also offer Botox treatment for excessive underarm sweating, which is a separate treatment with its own assessment. In every case, treatment is only carried out where we consider it clinically appropriate for you.

Every treatment begins with a consultation with our doctor-led team.
How It Works
Botox works by temporarily reducing the activity of the specific muscles injected. With less repeated movement in the treated area, the overlying skin tends to crease less, which softens the appearance of expression lines over the following weeks.
For excessive underarm sweating, small injections are placed across the underarm area to reduce the activity of the sweat glands in that region. The effect of Botox is temporary in both cases, and treatment needs repeating to maintain the effect.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Botox treatment. Botox is a prescription medicine, so a consultation and assessment are always required.
How long does it last?
The effect is temporary. Many clients find it lasts around three to four months for facial treatment, though this varies between individuals and depends on the area, the dose and your muscle strength. Treatment for underarm sweating often lasts longer.
Will I still be able to make expressions?
Our aim is a natural-looking softening rather than a frozen appearance. Dosing is tailored to your facial movement and your preferences, which we discuss carefully before treatment.
When will I see a difference?
Changes usually begin within a few days and settle by around two weeks. We can review you at that point and make small adjustments where clinically appropriate.
Can Botox treat excessive sweating?
We offer Botox treatment for excessive underarm sweating. It involves a series of small injections across the underarm area and requires its own assessment at consultation.
Who is not suitable for Botox?
Botox is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and certain neuromuscular conditions, medications and allergies may also mean it is not appropriate. Your medical history is reviewed before any treatment is prescribed.
Does it hurt?
The needles used are very fine and most clients describe only a brief sting at each point. The appointment is short and no numbing is usually needed for facial treatment.
